  • I have a few free minutes, so I thought I'd do a quick update.

I am absolutely loving my job! Although today I wanted to pull my hair out. I must need to learn to be more patient because God has blessed me with "one of those" students. But tomorrow is another day full of new opportunities that I don't want to miss. I love those children dearly, even though I've only known them for a week. It's amazing how fast they worm their way into your heart.

The other day in 2nd grade Arithmetic class, I gave the students a story problem. A very eager boy raised his hand and gave the correct answer. I asked him how he figured the answer out (thinking he would say I subtracted 29 from 32), and he nonchalantly said, "I just used math." Stupid teacher doesn't even know how figure out story problems!

We had problems again with our sink disposal clogging up. Instead of breaking another toilet plunger, we called maintenance. I had to laugh when I saw the invoice he left us today after fixing it. Scribbled down at the bottom was, "Cleaned out pee trap under sink."

    Good night.

  • Wedding 123

I get to see all of those people on Saturday, and I absolutely cannot wait!!!!!!! It will be so good to be home again.
Hopefully everything will go as planned, so we can get home on Saturday. After being sick on and off for a week, Wendell is finally feeling better. Now I'm praying that I don't get it and that the weather stays nice enough until we can leave. Please, God.....
    HUGE praise:
I got a job doing something I absolutely love!!!!! I'm teaching school again! YAY!!!! I cannot begin to say how excited I am about this. It is a little scary- stepping into a school where the only people you know is a handful of students that go to your church (most of which you've never even talked to before, let alone even know their name) and having (basically) one afternoon of following the person around whose place you are taking. But there are some things that will make it easier- they use the cirriculum that I taught with, and I get to teach 2nd grade (which I've done before). It won't be impossible. Thank you, God....

  • After listening to this for hours...

I'm wishing we would have added a shotgun to our wedding registry!

Sorry about the horrible quality. It was freezing outside, and I didn't feel like messing with the camera!

  • It's been a month since I posted, and I'm bored, so hence an update from my uneventful life. Something exciting did happen today- Ohio State beat Michigan 42-7!!!!!! I have to come to love football and am sad to see the season come to an end.
I am once again desperately searching for a job.  The bridal shop is slow right now. I've only worked 6 hours since November 6th. Part of the problem too is that my boss can't afford to pay me, so I'm only allowed to work when she gives me permission. There is stuff at the shop that could be done, but she wants to do it herself so she doesn't have to pay me. It's understandable (I guess), but kind of leaves me hanging. To be perfectly honest, it's really discouraging. It took me 2 months to find a job, I worked for a month, then I'm back to square one. Sometimes it's really hard to understand what God is doing. I guess I don't have to understand Him; I just need to trust Him that He has my best in mind. So I've been trying to keep myself busy so I don't get homesick, bored out of my mind, or start feeling sorry for myself.
We are just sticking around here for Thanksgiving. My family is going to Florida to be with Mom's family, and Phil & Holly are going to be in North Carolina. It's ok though; we're planning to go home over Christmas if everything works out ok.
Not much else to say...Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

  • Time for a new update. I'm tired of seeing that wedding gown which, by the way, I'm working on again.

    On to more exciting stuff....

A number of exciting (for me, anyway) things have taken place in the past couple of months that I haven't posted about.

-Mom, Megan, and Katie came out for a visit over Labor Day.

We spent Sunday afternoon at a park not too far from our house.

They had some cool play areas for kids, but we took full advantage of them.

-My sister Holly called one week and asked if I wanted to meet her on the western side of Maryland for a day. I was ecstatic! I jump at any chance to be with my family!

I have no idea why, but I didn't take any pictures of Holly!

It was fun to spend some time with these little munchkins as well.

I think we have a future opera singer in our family!

"Aunt Beffy, take a picture of me with these glasses on." I love them dearly.

-James and Katie met out here one weekend. It was fun having them around! I don't have any pictures though.

-Travis and Crystal's wedding was a fun weekend for both Wendell and I. Wendell was one of the groomsmen, and I got to help the ladies get ready in the morning. I don't have a picture of the bride and groom, but I do have one with my handsome hubby.

    Told you he was handsome!

-We went camping with Travis and Crystal last weekend. It was a lot of fun! A little chilly at night, but fun!

Now that I've just wasted an hour on the computer, I think I shall go get some laundry done.
